MicroStrategy OLAP Services is an extension
of our Intelligence Server that allows MicroStrategy Desktop, Office and
Web users to manipulate Intelligent Cubes™, a finite set of report
objects that are automatically or dynamically populated by MicroStrategy's
multi-pass SQL generation engine. Users can analyze the full depth and
breadth of their data warehouse with OLAP Services since no limits are set
in data scalability, analytical scope or drill-through capability.

| Many Unique Report Views from One Intelligent Cube |

Users can create unique report views by adding or removing attributes and metrics contained within the Intelligent Cube. This allows speed of thought report creation and modification with no need to extract data from the data warehouse. A developer or administrator can deploy one Intelligent Cube that will satisfy the reporting needs of many users, while still allowing users to customize reports to their specific needs. |

MicroStrategy Web or Desktop users can easily create new calculations from existing metrics within an Intelligent Cube. With drag-and-drop and an Excel-like formula bar, users can easily combine existing metrics with arithmetic operators to create their own calculations. The new calculation is performed without submitting a new request to the data warehouse and can also be saved to the Intelligent Cube for access by other users. |

| Advanced, High Performance Filtering | |

Users can easily filter their view of an Intelligent Cube to zero in on the exact data of interest. The filtering is performed on MicroStrategy Intelligence Server without re-querying the data warehouse. AND, OR, AND, AND NOT, OR NOT operators can be used to link multiple different filter conditions together. |

| Transparent to the End User |

Users do not need to know the name and location of an Intelligent Cube, or even if it exists. MicroStrategy OLAP Services works with MicroStrategy Intelligence Server to automatically use the appropriate Intelligent Cube or create a new one to satisfy the end user request. |
| Automatic Creation, Expiration and Refreshing of Intelligent Cubes |

Intelligent Cubes are automatically created and shared among users. The Intelligent Cubes used by MicroStrategy OLAP Services can be configured to expire or refresh automatically whenever underlying data or definitions change. |
| Inherited Security |

MicroStrategy OLAP Services automatically leverages the user and object security in the MicroStrategy platform. The individual report objects in an Intelligent Cube retain all of the security provisions of the underlying report objects. Those security provisions are dynamically applied to each user's security profile when the Intelligent Cube is accessed. |
